ESIC is hiring 128 Senior Residents on a 3-year contractual basis at ESI-PGIMSR, ESIC Medical College & Hospital and ODC (EZ) Joka, Kolkata. Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 1,48,669 per month under the 7th CPC.

Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has released Advertisement No. 05 of 2026 for engagement of Senior Residents under the Residency Scheme (3 years tenure under 7th CPC) at its medical college and hospital in Joka, Kolkata. The recruitment covers 17 Non-Clinical, 111 Clinical and Super Specialty posts across more than 30 departments. This is a walk-in interview — no online application is required. Doctors with PG qualifications in any of the listed specialties can attend the interview on the scheduled date.

Who Can Apply?

For Senior Resident (Clinical / Non-Clinical Departments)

• You must have a Medical PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the concerned specialty from an MCI/NMC recognized Medical Institution or Hospital.
• OR a Postgraduate medical degree in Master of Science with Ph.D in Medical Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry or Medical Physiology.
• You must be registered under MCI/NMC or the State Medical Council.
• Candidates on bond are not eligible.
• You need a Bond clearance certificate from your appointing authority if you have completed compulsory post-PG Bond service.

For Senior Resident (Dental Department)

• Post-Graduate Degree (MDS) in a dental specialty
• Registered with Dental Council of India (DCI) or State Dental Council

For Senior Resident (Super Specialties)

• DM/MCh/DNB in the concerned subject
• OR MD/MS/DNB qualified graduates in the concerned broad specialty

Candidates who have already completed 3 years tenure as Senior Resident in a Govt. Institution need not apply. If you are already working in any Govt. Institution, you can apply only after getting NOC from your institute.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit for broad specialties: 45 years
• Upper age limit for Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology: 50 years
• The age will be counted as on the date of walk-in interview for the concerned department.
• Age relaxation is applicable as per Central Government rules.

Salary

• Consolidated remuneration: Rs. 1,48,669 per month (under 7th CPC)
• You will also get transport allowance and DA on transport allowance as per relevant rules.
• For Non-Medical candidates, the Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) will be deducted from the consolidated remuneration.
• Residential accommodation may be provided subject to availability. If accommodation is given, HRA will not be allowed.

Application Fee

• General and other categories: Rs. 500
• SC / ST / PWD / Women / Ex-Servicemen: NIL (No fee)
• Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of 'ESI Fund Account No.1' drawn on any scheduled bank payable at Kolkata. The DD must be issued after the date of this advertisement.
• Fee once paid will not be refunded.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through walk-in interview:

1. Document Verification: Report between 09:30 AM and 10:30 AM on the scheduled date at Academic Block, 2nd Floor of ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Joka. Candidates reporting after 10:30 AM will not be considered.
2. Screening Test (if needed): If the candidate-to-post ratio exceeds 1:10, a screening test with MCQs in the concerned discipline may be held. Marks in the screening test will not be added to the final selection.
3. Walk-in Interview: Your performance in the interview is the sole criteria for selection.

How to Apply

1. Download the application form (Annexure-I) and Verification Slip (Annexure-II) from esic.gov.in or the notification PDF.
2. Fill in the application in the prescribed format using neat typing in double spacing on A4 size paper.
3. Prepare a Demand Draft of Rs. 500 (if applicable) in favour of 'ESI Fund Account No.1' payable at Kolkata.
4. Keep all original documents and one set of self-attested copies — NMC/State MC Registration, qualification certificates, mark sheets, experience certificate, age proof, caste certificate (if applicable), Bond clearance certificate and 2 recent passport size photographs.
5. Walk-in for document verification on your scheduled date at Academic Block, 2nd Floor, ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Diamond Harbour Road, Joka, Kolkata-700104 between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM.
6. Attend the interview after document verification is complete.

• Follow hospital protocols, infection control and safety guidelines
• Conduct routine investigations and procedures within your specialty
