DLSA Cachar, Silchar Driver Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The District Legal Services Authority, Cachar, Silchar has released an advertisement for filling up 1 Driver post on a contractual basis in its establishment, as per approval of the Hon'ble Executive Chairman, Assam State Legal Services Authority, Guwahati (Order No. ASLSA/192/2019/615 dated 19.03.2026). Preference will be given to candidates with prior driving experience. The engagement is initially for one year. This recruitment is open only to candidates from Assam with a valid Employment Registration Certificate.

Who Can Apply?

• Citizenship: You must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India
• Qualification: You must have passed Class X (HSLC) from a recognised Board
• Driving Licence: You must hold a valid LMV Driving Licence issued by a competent authority. The licence must have been issued at least 3 years before the date of publication of this advertisement
• Employment Registration: You must possess a valid Employment Registration Certificate issued by the Government of Assam
• Preference will be given to experienced candidates.
• Persons in marriages contrary to the provisions of law (e.g. married to a person with a spouse already living) are not eligible.

Age Limit

• You must be between 18 and 40 years of age as on 01-01-2026
• Age criteria will be guided by the prevailing government guidelines

Salary

• Monthly Remuneration: Rs. 15,000 per month (contractual)
• Engagement period: 1 year (renewable as per requirement)

Selection Process

Selection will be done in two stages, totalling 60 marks:

1. Driving Test (30 marks): Practical test on four segments — Starting, Driving, Parking, and After-driving (10 marks each). You must score a minimum of 15 out of 30 marks to qualify.
2. Viva-voce (30 marks): Oral interview to assess overall suitability.

The final select list is prepared based on the sum total of marks obtained in the Driving Test and Viva-voce. If two or more candidates obtain the same total, the candidate with higher driving test marks gets preference. If those are also tied, the senior in age gets preference.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending any stage of the selection process. Call letters will be sent through WhatsApp or email — so providing a valid WhatsApp number and email ID is mandatory.

How to Apply

1. Download the Standard Form from the District Judiciary Cachar website at cachar.dcourts.gov.in.
2. Fill in all details. Write your WhatsApp/Mobile number and Email ID in red ink at the top of the Standard Form.
3. Attach the following:
   • Two recent passport size colour photographs
   • Self-attested copies of educational qualification, Driving Licence, and Employment Registration Certificate
   • Experience certificate (if any)
4. Put the application in a sealed envelope. Superscribe "Application for the post of Driver (Contractual)" on the top of the envelope.
5. Send by post or submit in person at the "Drop Box" placed on the 1st Floor of the O/O District Legal Services Authority, Cachar, addressed to:

• Drive the official vehicle of the District Legal Services Authority, Cachar safely and as per traffic rules
• Maintain the assigned vehicle in proper running condition with regular cleaning and basic upkeep
• Keep the vehicle log book updated with trip details, kilometres, and fuel records
• Transport officers and staff to courts, legal aid clinics, and field visits across the district
• Report minor faults and arrange timely servicing through the office
• Follow instructions of the District and Sessions Judge and other authorised officers
• Maintain punctuality, decorum, and confidentiality while on duty
