Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial term: The engagement starts with a one-year contract. Extension follows the applicable norms and approval of the competent authority.
• Retirement gap: There must be a gap of at least fifteen days between retirement and appointment as a consultant. This engagement is not treated as re-employment.
• Office hours: You follow the laboratory's normal hours. Special assignments may need work on holidays or beyond normal hours without additional benefits or leave.
• Paid leave: You may receive 1.5 days for each completed month of service. Leave cannot accumulate beyond the calendar year.
• Confidentiality: You must follow the contract, non-disclosure agreement, conduct rules and information-security restrictions applicable to the engagement.
• Conflicts of interest: Private business or professional work must not conflict with government interests during the consultancy.
• Review of engagement: The competent DRDO authority can review or end the consultancy. The assignment remains temporary and tied to the specified work.
• Risk and liability: The contract places responsibility for loss, accident or injury arising from the work, including travel, outside the department's liability.
