Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The appointment is purely temporary and lasts no more than eleven months, or until the post is filled on a regular basis, whichever is earlier.
• No permanency: You cannot claim permanency in University service. On joining you furnish a bond or undertaking on stamp paper to the Registrar, TANUVAS, Chennai, stating exactly that.
• Leave: Only casual leave is allowed — one day for every completed calendar month. No other kind of leave applies.
• Duties: You work under the Head of the Department and the Dean of the college, who assign your duties from time to time.
• Language: Working knowledge of Tamil is desirable.
• Shortlisting: If a disproportionately large number of applications come in, the selection committee may shortlist candidates using a score-card based criterion.
• Interview cost: You appear before the selection committee at your own cost and no TA or DA is paid. Personal appearance is the only route — there is no online interview, and the schedule will not be changed for any reason.
• Fitness: A certificate of physical and mental fitness from a medical officer is required at the time of appointment.
• Disclosure: You must declare any suspension, removal from earlier service or criminal prosecution against you. False information or forged documents disqualify the candidature and can end the appointment without notice.
