Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR) is recruiting General Duty Medical Officers (Consultants) for its rehabilitation institute at Olatpur in Cuttack, Odisha. The institute works under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and combines rehabilitation services with training for health and technical professionals. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial posting: You will start at SVNIRTAR, Cuttack. You can later be transferred anywhere in India under the department, so the Cuttack posting does not remove the wider transfer liability.
• Contract period: The initial appointment will ordinarily be for no more than 3 years. Extensions can take the total term to a maximum of 5 years, with General Council approval needed beyond the initial 3 years.
• Exclusive engagement: You cannot take another commercial assignment during this full-time consultancy. Consider this condition if you currently combine clinical work with outside assignments.
• Paid leave: You earn 1.5 days of paid leave for each completed month of service under the consultant terms.
• Serving applicants: If you work in a government department, quasi-government organisation, autonomous body or public sector undertaking, you must apply through the proper channel or obtain your employer's no-objection certificate.
• Institute rules: Your engagement follows the institute's employment rules and any changes made by the ministry. The institute's decisions on recruitment matters are final, and it will not handle personal enquiries or correspondence about those decisions.
• Accuracy of claims: The institute can check your background and supporting records when you join or during service. False records or concealed background information can lead to termination.
• Conduct: Canvassing or using outside influence can disqualify your application. Impersonation or other unfair conduct during recruitment can also lead to disqualification and legal action.
• Recruitment discretion: The institute can stop or cancel part or all of the recruitment. Meeting the minimum conditions does not automatically give you a right to be called for assessment.
