NIT Jalandhar JRF Recruitment 2026: Overview

Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar (NIT Jalandhar) is hiring one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in its Department of Mathematics and Computing. The post belongs to a research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under its ARG scheme (project no. ANRF/ARG/2025/008266/LS), led by Dr. Manoj Kumar, Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator.

The project is called "Deep Learning Framework for Prediction of Residual Tumor and Extent of Resection Using Multi-modality Imaging Data". Put simply, the team is building deep learning models that read ultrasound and MRI images to judge how much of a brain tumour is left during and after surgery. If you like maths, Python and medical imaging, this is a solid entry point into applied AI research — and the selected fellow can register for a PhD at NIT Jalandhar under institute rules.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of the post: Purely temporary, ad-hoc and contractual. It lasts for the project period or until the PI no longer needs the position, whichever comes first.
• No claim on a regular job: This project appointment gives you no right to any post in the institute.
• Termination: The services can be ended at any time without notice and without a reason.
• Teamwork: You will have to work with the project's co-investigators, not only the PI.
• PhD option: The selected candidate is allowed to register for a PhD programme at NIT Jalandhar as per institute norms.
• Shortlisting: Only candidates shortlisted on merit and project needs get an interview call; meeting the minimum qualification alone does not guarantee selection.
• Travel costs: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
