For Assistant Professor (Bioinformatics):

• Qualification: High Second Class (55% marks) Post-Graduate degree (M.Sc./M.Tech.) in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology.
• Desirable: NET/SET/Ph.D. in the subject with teaching/research experience and publications in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology.

For Assistant Professor (Genetic Engineering & Synthetic Biology):

• Qualification: High Second Class (55% marks) Post-Graduate degree (M.Sc./M.Tech.) in Genetic Engineering/Synthetic Biology/Recombinant DNA Technology/Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology or another relevant discipline.
• Desirable: NET/SET/Ph.D. in the subject with teaching/research experience in Genetic Engineering/Synthetic Biology/rDNA Technology.

For Assistant Professor (Biological Sciences):

• Qualification: High Second Class (55% marks) Post-Graduate degree (M.Sc.) in Biological Sciences/Botany/Zoology.
• Desirable: NET/SET/Ph.D. in the subject with teaching/research experience and publications in Biological Sciences/Botany/Zoology.

The Institute of Biotechnology conducts teaching and research across modern biotechnology disciplines, including bioinformatics, genetic engineering, and biological sciences, and these three posts will strengthen its faculty in each of these areas.

Age Limit

• You should be between 20 and 55 years old as on 1 January 2026.

Salary

• Candidates holding a Ph.D. get a consolidated pay of Rs. 45,000 per month (fixed).
• Candidates holding only a Master's degree get a consolidated pay of Rs. 35,000 per month (fixed).
• This is a fixed contractual pay and does not change based on your teaching load — no separate allowances are mentioned in the notification.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on a single stage:

1. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email and called for an interview. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

The Director, Institute of Biotechnology, will oversee the recruitment process and communicate the outcome to shortlisted candidates by email, so make sure your email address on the application form is correct and active.
