Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) GDMO Consultant Doctor Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts

SAIL, a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise and India's largest steel producer, is engaging Consultant Doctors to serve as General Duty Medical Officers across its Jharkhand Group of Mines hospitals and health centres — including Kiriburu-Meghahatuburu Iron Ore Mines, Gua Ore Mine and Manoharpur Ore Mine — which together run 175 hospital beds. Retired doctors and ex-employees of SAIL/PSUs are also welcome to apply, provided they have not separated on voluntary retirement (a self-certificate confirming this is required from ex-employee applicants). This is a contractual engagement, not a regular appointment, under Advertisement No. BSL/R-C/2026-07 dated 23 July 2026.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an MBBS degree from a University/Institute recognized by MCI/NMC/SMC.
• Registration: You must hold a valid practitioner licence and be enrolled in the State Register or National Register.
• Experience: Candidates with relevant work experience will be given preference.
• Eligible categories: Currently serving doctors as well as retired doctors and ex-employees of SAIL or other PSUs/Government departments (who have not opted for voluntary retirement) can apply.
• Reservation: Of the 3 posts, 2 are Unreserved (UR) and 1 is for OBC candidates.

Age Limit

• You must be under 69 years old as on the date of the advertisement (23 July 2026).
• You must be medically fit to perform the duties of the post.

Salary

• The consolidated monthly remuneration for GDMO is Rs. 1,00,000.
• A postpaid SIM under CUG is provided, with a monthly ceiling of Rs. 350 for calls and rental.
• Company accommodation may be provided on a payment basis, subject to availability. No HRA is admissible.
• You get 10 days of leave per year, subject to prior approval, and medical benefits for self and spouse at the unit hospital.

Selection Process

The selection happens through:

1. Walk-in Interview: Bring your original documents for verification before the interview.
2. Medical Screening: A fitness check follows the interview.

No TA/DA is paid for attending the walk-in interview.

The engagement is initially for 1 year, or till you turn 70 years of age, whichever is earlier, and may be extended by another year based on your performance — up to a maximum of 3 years under the same contract, though re-engagement afterward is allowed. Your performance will be reviewed annually.

2. Fill it in capital letters and paste a recent passport-size photograph.
3. Attach original documents with one set of self-attested photocopies: qualification certificates, experience certificates, date of birth proof, registration certificate, and photo ID proof.
4. Report at Office of the ED (M&HS), Bokaro General Hospital, Bokaro, Jharkhand - 827004 for registration between 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM on the interview date.
5. Attend the walk-in interview starting at 9:30 AM.

• Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation
• Coordinate with hospital staff for smooth healthcare delivery
