SAIL's Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) is hiring 9 Consultant Doctors for Bokaro General Hospital, a 910-bed multispecialty hospital in Jharkhand. This includes 4 Specialist posts (Orthopaedics, Anaesthesia, Paediatrics) and 5 General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) posts. If you have an MBBS degree (with a PG for specialist posts) and a valid medical registration, you can attend the walk-in interview. The pay ranges from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 1,60,000 per month. SAIL Bokaro Consultant Doctor Recruitment 2026 - 9 Posts

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna company, has invited qualified doctors to a walk-in interview for engagement as Consultants at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH), run by Bokaro Steel Plant. There are 9 posts in total — 4 Specialist Consultants and 5 GDMOs — all on a contract basis. Both fresh doctors and retired doctors can apply, and those with relevant experience get preference.

SAIL is India's largest steel producer, and Bokaro Steel Plant is one of its biggest integrated steel plants. Bokaro General Hospital serves the plant township and nearby areas, so this is a good chance to join a busy multispecialty hospital while working in a stable PSU setup.

Vacancy Breakdown

Consultant as Specialists (4 posts):

• Orthopaedics: 2 posts
• Anaesthesia: 1 post
• Paediatrics: 1 post

Consultant as General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO): 5 posts

Category-wise reservation:

• Specialist posts: UR-1, SC-1, OBC-2 (includes backlog posts)
• GDMO posts: UR-2, OBC-2, EWS-1, with 1 post reserved for PwBD (OH/OL) under horizontal reservation

Who Can Apply?

For GDMO posts (Rs. 90,000/month)

• You must have an MBBS degree from an institute recognised by MCI / NMC / SMC.

For Specialist posts (Rs. 1,20,000 to Rs. 1,60,000/month)

• You need an MBBS plus a PG Diploma or PG Degree in the relevant specialty — Orthopaedics, Anaesthesia, or Paediatrics.

Other Requirements

• You must be an Indian national and hold a valid registration with the MCI / NMC / State Medical Council, or a valid practitioner licence.
• Retired doctors can apply, but anyone who took Voluntary Retirement from SAIL or another PSU is not eligible.
• OBC (non-creamy layer) and EWS candidates must bring a valid certificate issued on or after 1 April 2026.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 69 years as on 29 June 2026 (the date of the advertisement).
• The engagement runs only up to the age of 70 years, and you must stay medically fit to work.

Salary

Your monthly pay depends on your qualification, and ranges from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 1,60,000:

• GDMO (MBBS): Rs. 90,000 per month
• Specialist (MBBS + PG Diploma): Rs. 1,20,000 per month
• Specialist (MBBS + PG Degree): Rs. 1,60,000 per month

This pay is for a minimum of 8 hours a day, 6 days a week (48 hours a week). If you work fewer hours, the pay is adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There is no HRA, but you can get company accommodation on a payment basis, a CUG mobile SIM with reimbursement, medical benefits, and 10 days of leave per year.

Application Fee

• There is no application fee for this walk-in interview.
• No TA/DA (travel allowance) will be paid for attending the interview.

Tenure and Benefits

• The engagement is for 1 year to begin with, extendable by 1 year at a time up to a maximum of 3 years (re-engagement is allowed after that).
• Your performance is reviewed every year, and any extension depends on it.
• Non-SAIL doctors can get 2 BHK company accommodation on a payment basis, subject to availability (no HRA).
• You get a CUG post-paid SIM with mobile bill reimbursement of Rs. 350 to Rs. 500 per month based on your qualification.
• Medical benefits are available for you and your spouse at the unit hospital, and women doctors get maternity leave under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961.
• Either side can end the contract with one month's notice.

Selection Process

Selection is through a walk-in interview — there is no written exam:

1. Walk-in Interview: Appear before the selection board at Bokaro General Hospital on the scheduled date with your filled application form and documents.
2. Medical Screening: Shortlisted doctors go through a medical fitness check.
3. Document Verification: Your certificates and registration are verified on the spot.

Engagement starts soon after the selection is complete and the orders are issued.

How to Apply

1. Download the application form (Annexure-I) from the official notification and fill it in capital letters.
2. Attach a passport-size photo and keep ready your original documents with one set of self-attested copies — MBBS/PG certificates, mark sheets, registration certificate, experience certificate, date of birth proof, photo ID, and caste/EWS certificate if applicable.
3. Reach the venue — Office of the ED (M&HS), Bokaro General Hospital, Bokaro, Jharkhand – 827004.
4. Register between 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM on 16 July 2026 and appear for the interview.
