Space Applications Centre (SAC), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is hiring Junior Research Fellows, Research Associates and Project Scientist-I staff for temporary research assignments at Ahmedabad under the Department of Space. Post-wise Duties

Junior Research Fellow

You will support hands-on research and algorithm development in the discipline linked to your post code. Your work may combine laboratory experiments, simulation, coding, satellite-data processing and field measurements, with results recorded for the project team.

Research Associate

You will handle advanced modelling and interpretation in atmospheric, oceanic, mathematical or environmental research. Depending on the post, you may integrate observations with satellite data, build scientific models and prepare research outputs under SAC review.

Project Scientist-I

You will develop and test mission-focused scientific methods and tools for NISAR, hydrology, cryosphere, ecology or microwave sensing projects. The role can include field validation, data-product assessment and technical support for future sensors.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Temporary engagement: these posts do not create a right to regular appointment in SAC, ISRO or another Department of Space centre.
• Tenure: JRF engagement begins with a fixed fellowship period and may be extended after work assessment; Research Associate engagement cannot exceed three years.
• Project linkage: Project Scientist-I appointments begin for one year or the project period and may be extended; all such positions end with the project.
• Place of work: your base posting is SAC Ahmedabad, but project or research work may require you to stay and work elsewhere in India.
• Academic mode: professional qualifications completed through Open and Distance Learning are not accepted for this drive.
• Research publication: you need prior SAC or ISRO clearance before publishing a report based on work done during the engagement.
• Research record: you must provide a consolidated report of your work when the fellowship ends or if you resign.
• Medical fitness: joining is subject to being found fit by the designated medical authority.
