National Testing Agency (NTA) is hiring 9 officers across Group A and Group B posts on deputation or foreign service terms. National Testing Agency (NTA) was set up as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for admission and fellowship in higher educational institutions across India. It works as an autonomous body under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. NTA has now released a vacancy notification for 9 posts spread across five designations - Joint Director, Research Scientist 'C', Deputy Director, Assistant Director, and Senior Superintendent / Senior Superintendent (Accounts). All posts are filled on deputation basis or foreign service terms, with an initial tenure of three years. NTA wants officers with an academic, technical, finance, administration, or legal background who have experience in planning, coordinating, and executing large-scale examinations.

Who Can Apply?

• Eligibility: You must be a regular Central/State Government, PSU, or Autonomous Body officer currently holding a post in the pay level required for the post you are applying for, with regular service in a substantive post as per the recruitment rules of that post.
• Preference: NTA prefers candidates with an academic, educational, technical, finance, administration, or legal background, along with experience in planning, coordination, and execution of examinations.
• Detailed qualifications: Post-wise educational qualification and experience requirements are listed in Annexure-I (a-d) of the official notification at nta.ac.in.
• Officers who reached the required pay level only through ACP/MACP/Adhoc promotion (not regular promotion) are not eligible to apply.
• Applications that are incomplete, deficient, or do not meet the eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification will be summarily rejected. Applications not received through proper channel will also not be considered.

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit to apply for any of these posts is 56 years as on the closing date of application.
• You must meet the educational qualification, experience, and other eligibility criteria as on the closing date of application (7 August 2026).

Salary

• Joint Director / Research Scientist 'C': Rs. 78,800 to Rs. 2,09,200 per month (Pay Level 12, 7th CPC).
• Deputy Director: Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month (Pay Level 11, 7th CPC).
• Assistant Director: Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month (Pay Level 10, 7th CPC).
• Sr. Superintendent / Sr. Superintendent (Accounts): Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month (Pay Level 7, 7th CPC).
• You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances admissible on deputation/foreign service terms, as per government rules.

Selection Process

NTA will select candidates in the following stages:

1. Screening/Shortlisting: NTA screens applications based on eligibility, experience, and preference criteria to shortlist candidates for interview.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview, where you must submit original documents for verification of age, qualifications, and service record.

Merely meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee an interview call - only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. If your documents do not match your application during verification, you will not be allowed to appear for the interview. NTA reserves the right to amend, change, or cancel the recruitment process at any stage without prior notice.

How to Apply

1. Download the vacancy notification from nta.ac.in and read the eligibility criteria carefully.
2. Fill in the application form (Annexure II) completely.
3. Attach self-attested copies of your educational certificates, experience certificate, and NOC from your Head of Department.
4. Get your application forwarded by your Cadre Controlling Authority/Parent Organization along with your APAR dossier (last 5 years), vigilance clearance, and integrity certificate.
5. Clearly label the envelope "Application for the post of ___" with the post name filled in.
6. Send the complete application by post to Director (Administration), National Testing Agency, First Floor, MDBP Building, Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi - 110020, and email a copy to dir-admin@nta.gov.in.
