This is a contractual role built around expanding the market for agri-horticultural products sourced from the North East. The distinctive part of the job is its direct link with entrepreneurs, farmer producer organisations, self-help groups and cooperatives—your retail work is expected to support local producers instead of relying on outside traders.

You will combine business development, retail operations and brand promotion. The role suits someone who is comfortable moving between outlet visits, partner meetings, sales reviews and office reporting. Travel is a regular part of the assignment, because the work includes checking retail performance, supporting promotional events and finding new distribution channels.

The corporation expects this role to turn local and entrepreneur-made products into a stronger retail proposition. That means looking beyond immediate sales: you will study customer response, improve merchandising, help outlets explain the products, and give producer groups useful market feedback. You will also work across internal teams so that promotions, stock movement and retail commitments stay aligned.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Engagement: The appointment begins with a three-month probation period and then runs initially for two years. Extension or renewal depends on NERAMAC's need and your performance.
• Contract status: This engagement does not create a right to absorption, regularisation or an additional benefit after the contract ends.
• Working hours: You may need to work beyond normal office hours or on holidays when retail activity requires it. Contract-employee leave rules still apply.
• Transfer: NERAMAC can transfer the selected person to another branch or location when its operations need it.
• Termination: The corporation can end the engagement with one month's notice for unsatisfactory performance. You may also leave with one month's written notice or the equivalent consolidated pay.
• Current employment: If you work for a government body, PSU or autonomous organisation, bring a No Objection Certificate from your present employer.
• Travel costs: No TA or DA will be paid for attending the interview.
• Final appointment: Selection remains subject to the prescribed medical fitness standards and the corporation's verification of your information.
• Legal jurisdiction: Recruitment-related disputes fall under the courts at Guwahati.
