LPSC Technical Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), under the Department of Space, is recruiting technical and fire-service staff for its units at Valiamala near Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru. The notice brings together engineering support, skilled-trade, drafting and fire-response roles used across propulsion-system production and centre operations. These posts are described as temporary but likely to continue indefinitely, which is the standard service arrangement stated in the advertisement.

The technical work supports the hardware, processes and safety systems behind India's liquid-propulsion programmes. Posts and Disciplines

• Technical Assistant - Mechanical: supports production planning, fabrication, assembly, integration, hardware testing, quality control, materials and procurement at Valiamala or Bengaluru.
• Technical Assistant - Chemical: works at Valiamala with chemical processes, process equipment, propellant servicing, analysis, quality control and technical records.
• Technician B - Electronic Mechanic: handles PCB wiring, measurement, screening, testing, electronic-package integration, harnessing and calibration at Bengaluru.
• Technician B - Fitter: carries out fitting, forging, rolling, alloy sample preparation, mechanical assembly, inspection, maintenance and mechanism testing at Valiamala or Bengaluru.
• Draughtsman B - Mechanical: prepares engineering drawings, fluid schematics, sketches and bills of materials at Valiamala.
• Fireman A: provides firefighting, rescue, prevention, equipment upkeep, standby cover, safety training and first aid at Valiamala.

Post-wise Duties

Technical Assistant - Mechanical

You will coordinate shop-floor activity and help turn engineering plans into tested propulsion hardware. The work spans fabrication, assembly, integration, inspection and production support.

Technical Assistant - Chemical

You will supervise chemical operations, run and maintain process equipment, support propellant servicing and keep quality and analysis records accurate.

Technician B - Electronic Mechanic

You will wire, screen, test and integrate electronic packages, build harnesses and maintain or calibrate electronic equipment.

Technician B - Fitter

You will perform fitting and filling work, assemble and dismantle hardware, inspect components and support flight-mechanism testing and quality assurance.

Draughtsman B - Mechanical

You will convert engineering inputs into clear drawings, schematics, sketches and material lists that follow LPSC drawing standards.

Fireman A

You will respond to fires and rescue calls, maintain emergency equipment, support prevention work, give first aid and cover fire-service standby duties.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial posting: Your first unit will be Valiamala or Bengaluru as shown for the post, but you can later be posted to any ISRO or Department of Space centre in India.
• Reservation: Some technical posts carry horizontal PwBD backlog reservations, and part of the Fitter requirement is reserved for former service personnel. The detailed category conditions in the notice control allocation.
• Government employees: If you work in Government, a PSU or an autonomous body, inform your employer and bring a No Objection Certificate before attending the applicable test.
• Multiple choices: You must submit a separate application for each post if you want to compete for more than one.
• Test venue: Written and skill tests will be held only at suitable venues in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
• Travel: No travel payment is made for the written test. Eligible outstation candidates called for the skill test or PET may receive second-class rail or bus fare under the notice's conditions.
• Fire-service risk: Fireman candidates take part in the PET at their own risk and must provide the prescribed declaration when reporting.
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply. The advertisement also encourages women to join the Department of Space workforce.

Application Submission Notes

You do not need to send the application printout, certificates or payment receipt to LPSC after successful registration. Make sure the certificates for your qualification and any reservation claim are uploaded in the portal; originals will be checked later.
