JIPMER OBG Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is building a project team in its Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Puducherry. Funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the study examines how pregnant women can be referred to facilities suited to their risk and care needs. These are contract project roles under principal investigator Dr. Gowri Dorairajan, combining field research with a digital referral system.

Post-wise Duties

Project Scientist-I Medical

You will visit health facilities, assess services and interview providers and pregnant women. Your work includes participant consent, research records and zone-wise reports.

Project Scientist-II Data Manager

You will manage the project database, develop electronic collection forms and resolve missing, duplicate or inconsistent records with the field team.

Project Scientist-II IT Manager

You will lead referral-platform development and deployment, working with the Bombay IT team and other partners. You will also coordinate testing, security, system integration and user training.

Project Scientist-II Statistician

You will code and analyse study data, design validation rules and prepare statistical reports. You will help train staff on digital data entry.

Project Scientist-III Medical

You will supervise implementation across sites, review data quality and coordinate stakeholder meetings and project reporting.

Project Technical Support-II Administrative Assistant

You will keep administrative and financial records, arrange meeting and travel logistics, and support procurement and expenditure reporting.

Project Technical Support-II Government Liaison Officer

You will coordinate permissions and government contacts, prepare official letters and arrange participation in project meetings and facility visits.

Project Technical Support-III IT Support

You will help test and maintain the application, resolve user problems and visit facilities to support staff using the system.

Project Technical Support-III Data Support

You will monitor incoming records, clean data and resolve queries with field staff. You will support the statistician with data entry and reports.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The likely project duration is 48 months. Engagement depends on external funding and may be extended or shortened by the investigator.
• Regular employment: Project engagement gives you no claim to a regular JIPMER post.
• Travel: Several roles involve visits to health facilities or government offices. Interview travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
