IUST Programme Manager Recruitment 2026: Overview
Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Kashmir, is engaging Programme Managers for its Centre for Good Governance and Policy Analysis (CGGPA). These are contractual university positions, with an initial engagement that can be extended only when the centre needs continued support and approves your performance.
The appointment places you within CGGPA, where the centre assigns work according to its requirements. The notice sets out the terms of engagement but does not give a detailed daily duty list for the role.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial tenure: The contract starts with six months. An extension depends on the centre’s requirements, satisfactory performance and approval from the competent authority.
- Nature of appointment: This engagement gives you no right to a regular or temporary university post, or to continued service under the same arrangement.
- Ending the contract: The university can terminate the engagement for unsatisfactory performance or other exigencies, including during the contract period.
- Resignation: If you wish to leave, you must give one month’s notice in advance or pay one month’s salary instead.
- Conduct: You must follow the university’s statutes and ethical rules, including rules that come into force during your appointment.
- Background clearance: The university will issue the engagement and salary orders only after receiving satisfactory reports on character and antecedents from the relevant agencies or institutions.
- Travel expenses: The university will not reimburse travel or daily allowance for attending the interview.
- University discretion: IUST can change the number of posts, amend or withdraw the advertisement, or cancel recruitment at any stage.
- Updates: Check the university website and your email for communications. IUST does not accept responsibility for an intimation that reaches you late or fails to reach you.
- Legal jurisdiction: Disputes and legal proceedings concerning the university are subject to the courts in Srinagar.

You need to complete the online application and also deliver the completed form to the office of the Director, Centre for Good Governance and Policy Analysis, IUST. The notice sets a separate deadline for this hard-copy submission; an offline form alone does not replace the online application.

You need a master’s degree in one of the notified disciplines, covering engineering, policy, administration, management, economics, data science, planning, environmental or development studies, and social work. You also need at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Apply through the IUST online recruitment form, pay the Rs. 500 non-refundable fee online, and send the completed form with self-attested supporting documents to the Director, CGGPA. Both online and hard-copy requirements apply.
The consolidated salary is Rs. 47,000 per month. Your initial contract is for six months.
You are assessed on postgraduate merit, relevant experience and interview performance in a 60:20:20 ratio. Experience earns 2 marks per completed year, capped at 20, with proportionate credit for periods of at least six months. Final selection is subject to document checks.
