IUST JRF Molecular Medicine Recruitment 2026: Overview
Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the Watson-Crick Centre for Molecular Medicine in Awantipora, Kashmir. The fellowship belongs to a project supported by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) through its Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG). Its focus is a biomaterial designed to help suppress local tumours and support mucosal regeneration in canine oral carcinoma.
The project brings together biomaterials and molecular medicine around this specific research problem. Dr. Afnan Saleem is the principal investigator, and your appointment would be linked to this funded project at the centre.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial tenure: The appointment starts with a one-year term. An extension depends on your performance and the availability of project funds; it is not automatic.
- Project-linked engagement: The position is temporary and ends with the project. It does not give you a claim to a regular university appointment.
- Applicable rules: You will work under ANRF and university rules, including changes that apply during your engagement.
- Interview travel: The university will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview. You will need to cover those expenses yourself.
- Withdrawal: If you wish to leave, the notice calls for one month of notice or one month of salary instead.
- Recruitment decision: IUST may cancel the recruitment without giving a reason. Keep this condition in mind when making arrangements connected with the application.
