Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) is hiring a Simulation Engineer for a temporary project position linked to the Department of Physics and coordinated by the Department of Mechanical Engineering Design. The role is built around thermal engineering simulation for industrial problems, from early model definition through design recommendation and closure. You will work across analysis, modelling, testing support and technical reporting rather than focusing on a single software task.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: the appointment starts for one year. Any extension depends on your performance and the continuing project requirement.
• Contract status: completion of the engagement does not create a right to further extension, regularisation or permanent employment at IIT Madras.
• Experience assessment: only relevant experience gained after the minimum qualifying degree is normally counted. The Institute may relax minimum requirements for an exceptionally strong applicant.
• Shortlisting: IIT Madras may limit the number called by considering qualifications, relevance of experience and academic achievement above the minimum standard.
