IITGN Project Assistant-II Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) is hiring a Project Assistant-II for its Center for Creative Learning, under Prof. Manish Jain. The post belongs to the project 30-30 Eklavya 2024-26 and will support the Experiential Climate Change Education Project, which brings hands-on climate learning to schools, teachers and students.

This is a temporary, project-based engagement run through the institute's Research & Development Office, not a permanent IIT staff post. The work is a mix of field coordination and desk work — you will move between schools, Community Science Centers (CSCs) and the IIT Gandhinagar campus, while also keeping the project's paperwork and reports in order.

If you are a BCA or B.Sc graduate who has spent a couple of years in school education, science outreach or community programmes, this role fits you well. The final pay within the offered band depends on your qualification and experience. Candidates who enjoy explaining science to children and can manage kits, events and reports at the same time will find this a practical first step into IIT project work.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Institute norms apply: Eligibility is judged as per IIT Gandhinagar's own norms, not the funding agency's norms.
• Academic record counts end to end: The percentage conditions cover your Class 10 and Class 12 marks as well as graduation, so a good degree alone is not enough if your school marks fall short.
• Experience after the degree: The required experience must be post-qualification, meaning work done after you finished your BCA or B.Sc.
• Shortlisting is not guaranteed: "Merely meeting the minimum eligibility criteria will not guarantee the shortlisting and/or appointment. A higher cutoff level may be used." IITGN can also choose not to call anyone for a selection test or leave the post unfilled this round.
• Travel: The job involves regular travel to schools, CSCs and other programme locations, so be ready to work outside the campus.
• What helps your chances: Experience in STEM activities, experiential or environmental education, running teacher or student workshops, and familiarity with climate change and sustainability initiatives are listed as desirable.
• Tenure: The appointment is for a fixed term linked to the project.
