IIT Roorkee Project Associate Full Stack Development Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) is recruiting a Project Associate in Full Stack Development and IT Systems for a sponsored project in its Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Gates Foundation supports the project, titled Research on public finance, revenue mobilization and economic growth, under Principal Investigator Dr. Manish K. Singh.
This is a contractual project engagement at Roorkee, with a software and IT systems focus inside a public-finance research setting. The notice brings application development and supporting infrastructure together in the same role, covering the complete development and deployment lifecycle.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Project tenure: The initial engagement lasts 12 months. The notice allows an extension of up to 12 months, so you should treat any extension as a possibility rather than an assured continuation.
- Equal-merit preference: SC/ST applicants and women receive preference when qualifications and experience are equal. This condition applies to the comparison of applicants described in the notice.
- Interview expenses: The institute will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview. You will need to account for these expenses yourself if you attend.

- Develop frontend and backend applications using the MERN stack and Python
- Manage SQL and NoSQL databases for project applications
- Build APIs and tools for processing research data
- Deploy applications and maintain cloud and Linux servers
- Manage domains, DNS, SSL and Cloudflare settings
- Use Git and GitHub to track software changes
- Support web scraping, automation and financial data systems
- Troubleshoot production applications and handle security and ongoing maintenance
पात्रता मानदंड

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field from a reputed institute in India.
वांछित योग्यता
Prior experience with financial data, web scraping or data extraction, quantitative analysis, fintech or data-intensive applications.
आवश्यक कौशल
Hands-on JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, Node.js, MERN stack, Python, SQL and databases; web application development, APIs, Git/GitHub, cloud deployment, Linux/server management, DNS, SSL and Cloudflare.
