Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tenure: The initial appointment is for 11 months. An extension depends on satisfactory performance and the institute's continuing need for the role.
• Exit terms: Either IIT Hyderabad or the appointee may end the contract with one month's notice. The engagement does not give you a claim to regular employment.
• Work schedule: The normal requirement is eight hours per day and six days per week. Weekend or holiday work may be needed when directed for institute activities.
• Experience assessment: The institute counts relevant work completed after the qualifying degree. Part-time employment is not counted for the experience requirement.
• Shortlisting: When many people apply, the institute may shortlist using qualifications, relevant experience and achievements above the stated minimum.
• Campus accommodation: Contract staff have no automatic housing entitlement. IIT Hyderabad may consider accommodation case by case, subject to service need, availability and payment of licence fee.
