Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing Kancheepuram (IIITDM Kancheepuram) is hiring a Research Assistant for a sponsored study in its Department of Sciences and Humanities, Stream of English. You would work with the principal investigator and co-investigators to understand how public-school classrooms across Tamil Nadu use bilingual resources. The role is especially suitable if you enjoy meeting teachers and learners, recording what happens in real classrooms, and turning field evidence into useful findings. Both Tamil and English matter in day-to-day work, because the study depends on accurate communication and interpretation across the two languages.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project appointment: The position is purely contractual and tied to the sponsored research work for one year.
• Field travel: You must be ready to travel extensively to schools across Tamil Nadu for data collection and classroom observations.
• Language use: Spoken and written proficiency in both Tamil and English is essential.
• Work setting: The role combines school visits with data processing, analysis and report support at the institute.
• In-person assessment: Shortlisted candidates must appear physically at IIITDM Kancheepuram for the written test and/or interview.
• Travel expenses: The institute will not pay TA or DA for attending the assessment.
