IIIT Surat Counselling Psychologist Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat (IIIT Surat), an Institute of National Importance, wants a Counselling Psychologist for its Kholvad campus at Kamrej, Surat. You would be the person students turn to when they need help with emotional or interpersonal problems, and faculty and staff can reach you too.

This is a contractual engagement under advertisement IIITS/RNF/2026-27/03. The notice calls it full-time but sets the schedule at three days a week, so it can suit a counsellor who wants a steady campus role without a six-day week. Evening and weekend work may still be needed when students need support.

The institute accepts three different routes into the post — a Ph.D., a Master's or a Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field — with the experience needed going up as the degree level goes down. That makes the post open to experienced counsellors from schools, colleges and hospitals, not only to doctorate holders.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The first appointment runs for one year. An extension depends on your performance and on what the institute needs.
• No claim to a regular post: The contract gives you no right to regularisation, absorption or a further contract once it ends.
• Reporting line: You keep counselling sessions confidential, but you report to the Dean (SW) and escalate extreme cases that need the institute or the family to step in.
• Diverse campus: The notice expects you to be comfortable working with students from many social and economic backgrounds.
• Travel costs: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Relaxations: The institute keeps the right to waive or relax any condition in the notice.
