ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA) is engaging Young Professional-II and Young Professional-I staff for a state-funded aquaponics project at Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar. The project demonstrates raft aquaponics in peri-urban ponds, linking nutrient management with fish and horticultural crop production and local livelihood development. Posts and Disciplines

• Young Professional-II: The senior role supports aquaculture, horticulture, life-science and agricultural-engineering parts of the demonstration. It is suited to postgraduate-level technical work, research coordination and interpretation of project observations.
• Young Professional-I: This role supports field and laboratory activity across fisheries, biological sciences, agriculture, horticulture and agricultural engineering. Computer use, soil-and-water analysis, aquaponics exposure and AutoCAD are useful for the assignment.

Post-wise Duties

Young Professional-II

You will help plan and monitor the raft aquaponics demonstration, connect fish-culture and horticulture observations, and support research records and technical outputs. Your work may also involve design inputs, field coordination and communication with the project team.

Young Professional-I

You will support routine field, laboratory and data work, including observations connected with soil, water, fish and crops. You may also maintain computer records, help with drawings and assist demonstrations in peri-urban or rural locations.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The engagement is purely temporary and linked to the aquaponics project, currently running up to 30 June 2027. It can end earlier under the period stated in the selection offer.
• No regular claim: Appointment does not give you a right to permanent absorption in ICAR-CIFA or ICAR.
• Field mobility: You may need to work in rural areas and travel extensively according to the project's field schedule.
• Joining: Selected candidates may be asked to join immediately, so keep your records and availability ready.
• Interview travel: No TA or DA is paid for attending the walk-in.
• Conduct: Canvassing can disqualify an applicant, and the competent authority may cancel the recruitment process.
