The Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB) has released Advertisement No. 442/2026-27 to fill 3 Junior Industries Inspector, Class-3 posts under the Industries Commissioner's office, Gandhinagar. This is a Special Recruitment Drive meant only for candidates with benchmark disabilities, to fill backlog vacancies that were reserved for PwBD candidates in earlier drives but remained unfilled. There is no separate SC/ST/OBC quota in this drive — all 3 posts are open only to PwBD candidates, who will later be adjusted against their own social category (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS/General) once selected. As a Junior Industries Inspector, you will work under the Industries Commissioner's office and help small and medium industrial units in Gujarat follow government rules and access official schemes. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology (any branch except Civil Engineering) from a recognized university, OR a Diploma in Engineering/Technology (except Civil) plus about 2 years of practical technical work experience in a government office, PSU, or industry.
• Computer Knowledge: You must have basic computer application knowledge as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services Rules.
• Language: You should have adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi (or both).
• Disability: Only candidates with benchmark disabilities under the notified categories can apply — this is a PwBD-only Special Recruitment Drive.
• Domicile: You should be an original resident of Gujarat to claim reserved-category benefits (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS).
• Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India.
• Experience: Not required if you have a Bachelor's degree. If you only have a Diploma, you need about 2 years of hands-on technical work experience in a government office, government undertaking, or a company registered under the Companies Act, 2013.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 3 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation for PwBD candidates: General category male candidates get 10 years relaxation; general category female candidates get 15 years; reserved category male candidates get 15 years; reserved category female candidates get 20 years — subject to a maximum age of 45 years.
• Candidates already working in Gujarat Government service may also get some age relaxation as per rules.

Salary

• You will get a fixed salary of Rs. 40,800 per month for the first 5 years of service.
• After 5 years, if your service is satisfactory, you will move to the regular Pay Level-5 (Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300) under the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA and other allowances as per Gujarat Government rules once you are regularized.

Selection Process

Your selection will be through a single-stage competitive written exam:

1. Written Exam (CBRT/OMR, MCQ type): The exam has two parts. Part A carries 90 marks — Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30 marks), Numerical Ability (30 marks), and Constitution of India, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Comprehension (30 marks). Part B carries 120 marks on subject-related questions matching your qualification. Total: 210 marks.
2. Document Verification: You must submit your original certificates for verification if shortlisted.
3. Training: Selected candidates must complete government-prescribed training and pass the training exam before final appointment.

Widow candidates get a 5% bonus added to their merit marks in the selection process.
