ESIC Kollam Specialist and Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is filling Specialist (Full Time and Part Time) and Senior Resident posts at ESIC Hospital, Ezhukone in Kollam, Kerala. The hospital is running this as a single walk-in interview under Advertisement No. 06/2026, so there is no online form — you simply turn up with your documents. All engagements are contractual, and the Senior Resident posts last one year.

Posts and Disciplines

• Specialist (Full Time or Part Time): openings in General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Pulmonology, Microbiology, Psychiatry and Paediatrics. The General Medicine post is reserved for OBC; the rest are unreserved.
• Senior Resident (1 Year): openings in General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anaesthesia, Biochemistry, Radiology and ICU. One Obstetrics and Gynaecology post is a backlog vacancy for SC candidates.
• ICU posts: PG degree or diploma holders in Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Critical Care can be considered for the ICU openings.

Post-wise Duties

Full Time Specialist

You work regular hospital hours on weekdays and a half day on Saturdays, and you attend emergency calls whenever needed. You are responsible for every case treated under your supervision in your department.

Part Time Specialist (Entry Level)

You work four-hour sessions on four days a week, and you stay on call for emergencies. Extra hours beyond the weekly minimum and emergency visits are paid separately, subject to approval.

Senior Resident

You work under ESIC's Senior Residency norms, handle ward and floor duties, and take professional responsibility for the patients you attend. You are expected to live close to the hospital so you can respond on call round the clock.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: Full Time Specialists start with a one-year contract, renewable up to three years on good performance or until a regular officer joins. Part Time Specialists and Senior Residents get a one-year contract.
• Vacancies can change: The Medical Superintendent can raise or cut the number of posts on the interview day. If no reserved-category candidate turns up, a post may be filled for 44 days with an unreserved candidate.
• No private practice: Private practice of any kind is not allowed for any post.
• Indemnity policy: Selected specialists must hold a professional indemnity policy and submit the insurance and premium receipt within 7 days of joining.
• Leave: Full Time Specialists earn leave on a pro-rata basis; Part Time Specialists get no leave or benefits; Senior Residents get one casual leave per completed month.
• Security deposit and agreement: On selection you sign an agreement on stamp paper and give a refundable security deposit by demand draft, returned after you complete the contract.
• Notice period: Either side can end the engagement with one month's notice; if you leave without notice, you pay one month's pay instead.
• Senior Residency limit: If you have already completed three years of Senior Residency, you cannot attend for the Senior Resident posts.
• No extras: There is no TA/DA for attending the interview, and no hostel or quarters are provided.

Application Submission Notes

Report to the Administrative Block, ESIC Hospital, Ezhukone on the interview day. Registration runs from 9.00 AM to 10.00 AM, and interviews start at 10.00 AM. Bring the application form attached to the notification, filled in with a signed passport-size photo, along with your originals, one self-attested copy of each and the fee demand draft drawn in favour of "ESIC Fund A/c No.1" payable at SBI Keralapuram Branch.

Senior Resident candidates must also fill in the undertaking printed at the end of the notice. Any corrigendum will appear only on esic.gov.in/recruitments.
