DHS Kanniyakumari Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview
The District Health Society, Kanniyakumari (DHS Kanniyakumari), under the Tamil Nadu Department of Medical and Public Health, is filling 21 different temporary contract posts in district health offices and the hospitals it controls (advertisement 1195/A5/2026). - Early intervention (DEIC): Audiologist cum Speech Therapist at the District Early Intervention Centre.
- Field public health: MPHW (Male) / Health Inspector Grade II and Auxiliary Nurse Midwife / Urban Health Nurse — the two biggest groups in this notice.
- Nursing and clinical support: Mid Level Health Provider, Female Nursing Assistant, Radiographer and Dental Assistant (Dental Programme, posted at a government hospital and the Shenbagaramanputhur block primary health centre).
- Counselling: RMNCH+A Counsellors and an ICTC Counsellor for HIV testing centres.
- Hospital support: CEmONC Security Guard (men only, must read and write Tamil) and Multi Purpose Hospital Worker under NHM.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tenure: Every post lasts until the 11-month contract ends or the scheme ends, whichever comes first.
- Community rotation: Each post is tied to a reservation turn and a priority number under G.O. No. 122, Human Resource Management Department, dated 02.11.2021. If no eligible priority candidate applies, the next priority group is considered, and then non-priority candidates of the same community.
- Priority groups: orphans who lost both parents (No. 1), persons who studied in Tamil medium in Tamil Nadu government schools (No. 3), inter-caste married couples where one spouse is SC/ST (No. 7), ex-servicemen and their dependants (No. 8), and persons retrenched from state government service (No. 13).
- First graduate claim: Attach the certificate issued under G.O. (Ms) No. 296, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, dated 19.06.2023, or the priority will not be given.
- Tie-break: If marks are equal, the older candidate gets preference.
- Vacancies can change: The number of posts is subject to change, and the decision of the Chairman, District Health Society on appointments is final.
- Conduct certificate: A character certificate from a Group A or Group B officer (or your institution head) issued within 3 months before the notice is needed.
