There is no written exam — you simply need to walk in with your documents on the date allotted to your department. Both freshers with a fresh PG degree and experienced doctors, including retired professors, can apply.

The 24 departments with openings are Anaesthesiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Chest, Dermatology, ENT, Eye, Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Radiology, Surgery, Psychiatry, Dental, Community Medicine, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Accident & Emergency, ICU and Statistician. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates applies as per Government of India guidelines, and PwBD candidates are adjusted against the respective category quota.

Who Can Apply?

For Teaching Faculty (Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor):

• You need an MBBS degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification (MD/MS/DNB) in the relevant specialty, as per the latest National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines.
• Retired or currently working professors can also apply for these posts.

For Senior Resident, Junior Resident and Tutor/Demonstrator:

• You need an MBBS degree with a postgraduate qualification in the relevant department where applicable, registered with NMC or the State Medical Council.
• All candidates must have updated Medical Registration (NMC/State Medical Council). If your registration is being renewed, you can produce proof of application at the interview.

Age Limit

• Teaching Faculty (Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor): up to 67 years as on 30 August 2026.
• Senior Resident: up to 50 years (Pre/Para-clinical departments) or 45 years (Clinical departments), as on 30 August 2026.
• Junior Resident/Tutor/Demonstrator: up to 30 years as on 30 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation: As per prevailing Government of India norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.

Salary

• Professor: Fixed Basic Pay Rs. 1,23,100 per month (Level 13) plus other allowances.
• Associate Professor: Fixed Basic Pay Rs. 78,800 per month (Level 12) plus other allowances.
• Assistant Professor / Senior Resident: Fixed Basic Pay Rs. 67,700 per month (Level 11) plus other allowances.
• Junior Resident / Tutor/Demonstrator: Fixed Basic Pay Rs. 56,100 per month (Level 10) plus other allowances.
• Non-medical officers, if selected, are not entitled to Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA).

Application Fee

• SC / ST / ESIC Regular Employee / Female / Defence Ex-servicemen / PH candidates: No fee
• All other categories: Rs. 500, payable by Demand Draft in favour of "ESI Fund A/c No. 1" payable at Kolkata
• Fees once paid are non-refundable.
• A security deposit of Rs. 20,000 (Demand Draft) is required at the time of joining for all posts. It is refundable on successful completion of contract, but forfeited if you resign within 6 months of joining.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done in these stages:

1. Document Verification: Bring your offline application form and original documents for verification at the venue.
2. Walk-in Interview: A duly constituted Selection Board evaluates your academic credentials and interview performance.

Results are published only on the "Recruitments" section of www.esic.gov.in, and the offer of appointment is sent only by email.

2. Fill in the form and attach self-attested copies of your certificates, mark sheets, registration and other listed documents.
3. Report at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Asansol, Vivekanand Sarani, Asansol - 713305 (West Bengal) between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM on your department's scheduled interview date.
4. Complete document verification, then appear before the Interview Board.
5. Carry the Rs. 500 application fee Demand Draft, if applicable.

Note: Candidates reporting after 10:30 AM on the scheduled date will be treated as absent. No TA/DA is paid for the interview, and you may apply for multiple posts with a separate application, documents and fee for each.
