GIMS Contractual Faculty Recruitment 2026: Overview

Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida — an autonomous medical institute under the Uttar Pradesh government — is filling 63 contractual faculty posts across 20 clinical and para-clinical departments, from Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Cardiology to Radio Diagnosis and Medical Oncology. • Assistant Professor: the largest group of posts, spread across almost every department listed — including Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Critical Care Medicine, General Medicine, Neurosurgery, Medical Gastroenterology, Radiation Oncology and Radio Diagnosis.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contractual appointment: these are contract faculty posts, not regular government appointments.
• Qualification and experience: follow the National Medical Commission's (NMC) prescribed norms for each grade.
• Retired faculty and Defence Personnel: retired Professors/Faculty from government institutes and Defence Personnel can also apply for the Professor posts, as per NMC guidelines.
• Reserved categories: posts are distributed across the Unreserved, OBC, SC, ST and EWS categories as per the institute's roster for each department and grade.
• Institute discretion: the Director can reject any application without giving a reason.
