ESIC Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is engaging Senior Residents at ESIC Hospital, Balaram Prasad, Angul in Odisha through a walk-in interview, notified as Advt. No. 02/2026 by the hospital's Medical Superintendent. Eleven clinical and para-clinical specialties are covered in this round, and the engagement runs under the Central Residency Scheme — a one-year contract that can be extended up to three years. There is no online form and no shortlisting round: you carry your papers to the hospital on the interview day and face the selection board the same morning. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The initial engagement is for one year, extendable up to three years under the Central Residency Scheme, on fixed consolidated pay with the "No work no pay" principle applied.
• Termination: Either side can end the contract with one month's notice, or one month's gross pay in lieu, without giving a reason. ESIC also lists non-performance, false declarations, lack of honesty or integrity and public interest as grounds.
• Private practice: Private practice is not allowed during your ESIC tenure. Non-Practising Allowance is built into the consolidated pay instead.
• Travel: No TA or DA is paid for joining the assignment or on its completion.
• Medical fitness: You submit a fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner holding at least an MBBS degree within a week of joining.
• Undertaking: A self-declaration that no criminal, vigilance or disciplinary case is pending against you is required at the time of engagement.
• Agreement and deposit: On selection you sign an agreement with the Medical Superintendent on non-judicial stamp paper and, on joining, hand over a refundable security deposit of Rs. 50,000 by demand draft, returned after you complete the contract and produce a No Dues Certificate.
• Reporting late: Candidates who reach after the scheduled reporting time are not allowed into the interview process.
• Joining: Selected candidates join immediately on receiving the offer; if you fail to report by the stipulated date, the offer is cancelled and the next eligible candidate is taken.
• Other conditions: Canvassing in any form disqualifies you, ESIC can cancel the process at any stage, and the courts at Angul have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
