DRDO RCI Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview

Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is recruiting apprentices for its Hyderabad establishment within the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex. This notice is for the 2027 training intake, with applications opening in the current recruitment cycle. You will join under an apprenticeship contract rather than an appointment to the regular staff.

Posts and Disciplines

• Graduate Apprentice: Engineering disciplines include electronics and communication, instrumentation, electrical and electronics, computer science, mechanical, chemical, metallurgical, safety, aeronautical, aerospace and civil engineering.
• Technician Apprentice: The diploma stream covers electronics and communication, instrumentation, electrical and electronics, computer science, mechanical, chemical, metallurgical and safety engineering.
• Trade Apprentice: The ITI stream includes Fitter, Welder, Turner, Machinist, Mechanic-Diesel, Electronic-Mechanic, Electrician, Computer Operator Programming Assistant, Draughtsman Engineering (Mechanical) and Grinder.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Training term: The apprenticeship lasts one year. You must enter into the apprenticeship contract on the relevant portal before training begins.
• Completion does not promise employment: RCI has no obligation to offer you a job after you finish the training. Plan for this as a training engagement under the Apprentices Act.
• Withdrawal: Once selected for training, you cannot withdraw except for circumstances beyond your control. Consider this commitment before accepting the engagement.
• Living and travel arrangements: RCI will not provide hostel accommodation, quarters or transport for the interview or the training period. You must make your own arrangements.
• Travel costs: The establishment will not pay TA or DA for attending any part of the recruitment process.
• Reservation: Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, PWD and EWS categories follows the applicable apprenticeship legislation and rules. The advertised intake may change.
• Recruitment decisions: Management may amend, reschedule, cancel or suspend the process. RCI also reserves the right to end an apprenticeship when circumstances warrant it.
• Communication: Keep the email address and mobile number in your application active. Shortlisting messages will go to your recorded email address, so check it regularly.
• Conduct: You must follow the establishment’s rules during training. Concealing facts or seeking personal influence during recruitment can lead to cancellation.
