DMSRDE Paid Intern Recruitment 2026: Overview

Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment (DMSRDE), part of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is offering a paid internship at its Kanpur laboratory. This is a fixed-duration project placement for engineering and science students, with work supervised by a guide assigned by the laboratory. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The internship runs for six months. Your completion certificate depends on finishing the placement, having the project work assessed, handing in the project report and completing the remaining formalities.
• Attendance and payment: You need to attend the laboratory for at least 15 working days each month for the stipend. Payment goes to your bank account in two instalments, after three months and after six months.
• Leaving early: If you leave before completing the internship, the notice says no completion certificate or payment will be issued. Plan your availability around the full placement.
• Project supervision: The DMSRDE guide controls matters connected with your project. The notice does not allow your university or institute to interfere with that supervision.
• Accommodation: You must arrange your own stay in Kanpur. The laboratory does not provide accommodation or cover boarding and lodging expenses.
• Campus restrictions: Mobile phones, pen drives, portable hard disks and laptops cannot be brought onto the campus. You must follow the establishment's security, administrative and information technology rules.
• Confidentiality: You cannot share restricted DRDO information through newspapers, publications, social media or other platforms. Breaches can lead to action under the applicable secrecy provisions and DRDO rules.
• Leave and conduct: Only sick leave supported by a valid prescription is allowed. Indiscipline can end the internship, and you may have to compensate the establishment for damage caused to its equipment.
• Other commitments: You cannot receive payment for another internship during this training. DMSRDE also disclaims responsibility for injury, loss or damage during your project placement.
• Future employment: Completing the internship creates no right to a job with DMSRDE or DRDO. The management may also change the positions or selection criteria during the process.
