CLRI Multi Post Recruitment 2026: Overview
CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) is hiring Project Associate-I and Project Assistant-II staff for projects at its Chennai campus. Part of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the institute works in leather science and technology and takes part in national and international programmes. This is project-linked contractual work, with the engagement tied to the institute's project needs.

Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial tenure: the listed engagements run up to 31 March 2027. CLRI may shorten or extend them, but they end when the project ends or the staff requirement stops, whichever happens first.
- Permanent employment: accepting a project position gives you no claim to a permanent appointment with CLRI or CSIR. The appointment remains temporary and project-linked.
- Future project needs: suitable applicants may be placed on a panel and considered for later project requirements. Being on that panel is separate from receiving an appointment.
- Travel: CLRI will not pay your travel costs for attending the test or interview. You need to make your own arrangements to reach the Chennai venue.
- Recruitment changes: the Director may change the notice's terms, cancel the recruitment or leave positions unfilled. The advertised strength is provisional and may change during selection.
- Language of the notice: if the English and Hindi versions differ, the English version takes priority. Use that version when a translated line appears inconsistent.
Application Submission Notes
Use the application form attached to the notification and bring it to the venue. CLRI does not accept applications sent by post, speed post or courier, and forms in a different format will not be considered.
The venue is Triple Helix Auditorium, CSIR-CLRI, Sardar Patel Road, Adyar, Chennai 600020. Reporting for the written test begins at 9:30 AM, and the gate closes at 10:30 AM; you cannot report after that closing time.

Project Assistant-II: Rs. 20,000 per month. Project Associate-I rows 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6: Rs. 25,000 per month for applicants without the specified NET/GATE qualification. Row 3: Rs. 31,000 with CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET or GATE; otherwise Rs. 25,000 per month.

परीक्षा पैटर्न
You take a qualifying multiple-choice written test worth 50 marks. You get 45 minutes, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM on 27 October 2026. The competent authority will set the qualifying cutoff.
- Subjects: your graduation-level subject, General Awareness, General Intelligence, Aptitude and General English.
- Test exemption: applicants who qualified NET/GATE or a national-level exam conducted by CSIR, DBT, DST, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, UGC or ICAR may attend the personal interview directly.
Interviews are tentatively scheduled for 28 and 29 October 2026; the exact date and time will be communicated later. The notice does not give the question count, negative-marking rule or exam language.
