Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET) Project Fellow Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET), a scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has invited applications (Advt. No. HD/02/Rectt/3/SP-49/2026) for 1 Project Fellow post at its Hyderabad centre in Cherlapally. The position is under a project titled "Informal Sector Capacity Building Upgradation with formation of recycling clusters under MSME scheme and Enabling Technology for Recovery of Resources from Electronic Waste, thereby Promoting Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy", and is purely temporary, co-terminus with the project until 19 December 2026. No written exam is required — selection is entirely through a walk-in interview and document screening. Candidates with a background in chemistry, metallurgy, or materials science and an interest in e-waste recycling should attend. The number of posts on offer may increase or decrease at the discretion of C-MET.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.Sc with First Class in Chemistry or Materials Science, OR B.Tech/BE with First Class in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Environmental Engineering, OR M.Tech with First Class in e-Waste Resource Engineering.
• Desirable Experience: Experience in e-waste recycling, materials processing, extractive metallurgy of non-ferrous metals, process automation, pollution control, assaying, or characterisation.
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can appear for the walk-in interview.
• Category: This position is Unreserved (UR).

Age Limit

• You should be 28 years or younger as on the date of the walk-in interview.
• Age Relaxation: Provided as per Government of India rules, but no relaxation is given to SC/ST/OBC candidates for this Unreserved (UR) position.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 31,000 plus 30% HRA, totalling Rs. 40,300 per month.
• An additional one month's basic pay is provided towards medical expenditure reimbursement, subject to submission of bills from C-MET-recognized doctors/hospitals.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done through a walk-in interview and document screening:

1. Registration: Report between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM on the interview day.
2. Document Screening: Bring original certificates, mark sheets, and caste certificates (if applicable) for verification by the Screening Committee. If you have not yet collected certificates from your college/employer, bring a custodian certificate instead.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed on the same day.

No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview, and selected candidates must be ready to work on a three-shift basis if required, as well as travel anywhere in the country as needed for the project.

How to Apply

1. Download and fill the application form in the prescribed format from the C-MET notification.
2. Attach a recent passport-size photograph and self-attested copies of your certificates.
3. Report to the C-MET centre, IDA Phase-III, Cherlapally, Hyderabad on 4 August 2026 between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. The centre is well connected by bus from Secunderabad and Tarnaka.
4. Carry original mark sheets and certificates for verification at the time of screening.
