BARC JRF Recruitment 2026 — 105 Fellowships

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has opened applications for 105 Junior Research Fellowships under Advertisement No. 4/2026(R-V). If you hold an M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, or Life Sciences and have cleared a national-level exam like UGC-CSIR NET, GATE, or JEST, this is your chance to pursue cutting-edge research at one of India's most prestigious scientific institutions.

Selected fellows will register for a Ph.D. at Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a deemed university under the Department of Atomic Energy. You will carry out your doctoral research at BARC Mumbai or one of its satellite facilities in Kalpakkam, Indore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, or Visakhapatnam.

Selection Process

BARC will first screen applications based on your eligibility and your score in a recognized national-level exam (NET, GATE, JEST, ICMR-JRF, ICAR-JRF, DBT-JRB, or JGEEBILS). Shortlisted candidates will then be called for a selection interview at BARC, Mumbai. Your final ranking depends entirely on how you perform in this interview, and research project allotment follows the same ranking order.

• Conduct original research in your assigned discipline under the guidance of a BARC scientist
