COEP NPDF and SRF Deepfake Detection Recruitment 2026: Overview

COEP Technological University, Pune, formerly College of Engineering Pune, is recruiting a National Post Doctoral Fellow (NPDF) and a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for its Deepfake Detection using Deep Learning project. The work forms part of the ANRF-PAIR collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), bringing the research team into a shared university project. These are contractual project appointments in Pune, with a focus on digital privacy and security. You would work on detecting manipulated content and developing research findings for publication.

Post-wise Duties

National Post Doctoral Fellow

You will contribute to digital privacy and security research and help design systems that detect deepfakes across different content formats. The notice links this work to image and video processing, database systems and cybersecurity. You will also prepare research contributions for journals and conferences.

Senior Research Fellow

You will review multimodal deepfake detection studies, identify gaps and propose solutions for the security problems you find. You will deploy deep learning models on graphics processing unit (GPU) systems and test how they perform. Writing up the findings and presenting them at conferences are also part of the role.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project dependence: Both appointments end with the ANRF-PAIR project or its completion and depend on available funds. Neither appointment gives you a right to permanent university employment.
• SRF tenure: The initial engagement is for one year, with a possible extension of up to four additional years. Extension depends on satisfactory performance and funds, so it is not automatic.
• Vacation status: The posts are non-vacational where applicable under university and funding programme rules.
• Appointment approval: COEP issues appointment orders only after legal review and approval by the appropriate university authority.
• Recruitment changes: The university can modify, limit or cancel the recruitment, an application or a post without giving a reason.
• Interview travel: COEP does not pay TA/DA for attending the interview. You need to plan for your own travel expenses.
