ASSAC Accounts and Field Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Assam State Space Application Centre (ASSAC), Guwahati, is filling Accounts Assistant and Junior Field Assistant posts through a walk-in interview. ASSAC is an autonomous body under the Science, Technology and Climate Change Department, Government of Assam, and works on remote sensing, GIS mapping and survey projects across the state. All three posts are purely contractual for six months, so treat this as a short project engagement rather than a regular government job.

The good news is that there is no written test and no online form — you simply bring your filled application to the office on the interview day. It suits Commerce graduates with some accounts experience, and ITI pass-outs in Surveying or COPA who are comfortable with field work or computers.

Posts and Disciplines

• Accounts Assistant (AA): the accounts desk at the ASSAC office in Guwahati. Working knowledge of Tally ERP, GST, TDS, TCS, income tax returns and EPF/CPF is expected, and experience in a government department, autonomous body or PSU is preferred.
• Junior Field Assistant (Surveying): a field role for an ITI Surveyor-trade holder who can use GPS/GNSS tools, take measurements, read maps and walk wetlands to capture geotagged data.
• Junior Field Assistant (COPA): a computer-side role for an ITI COPA holder who can handle data entry, web portals, spreadsheets and GIS software.

Post-wise Duties

Accounts Assistant

You will keep the centre's books, handle GST, TDS and TCS work, help with income tax filing and manage provident fund records for staff on the Tally ERP system.

Junior Field Assistant (Surveying)

You will go out with the survey teams, take GPS/GNSS field measurements, read maps and collect geotagged photos, including in wetland areas.

Junior Field Assistant (COPA)

You will enter and clean field data, update web portals and spreadsheets, and work with GIS software to support the mapping projects.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Residence: You must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam.
• Tenure: The engagement is for six months only and gives no right to a regular appointment or to continue after the contract ends.
• Provident fund: CPF is added to the monthly pay as applicable.
• Travel: No TA/DA is paid for attending the walk-in interview.
• Eligibility check: Only candidates who meet the qualification and experience conditions are allowed into the interview room.
• Changes: The competent authority can modify, postpone or cancel the recruitment, fully or partly, without giving reasons.

Fill the Standard Form of Application prescribed under Part IX of the Assam Gazette, addressed to the Director, ASSAC, and attach a CV if you like. Bring it in person to Assam State Space Application Centre, Bigyan Bhawan (3rd Floor), G.S. Road, Guwahati 781005 along with self-attested copies of all certificates and the originals for checking.

• Accounts Assistant: registration from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on 29 September 2026; interview from 11:00 AM.
• Both Junior Field Assistant posts: registration from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on 6 October 2026; interview from 11:00 AM.

Registration closes sharp at 11:00 AM and no application is taken after that, so reach the venue early.
