APPSC Assistant Director Economics Recruitment 2026: Overview

परीक्षा पैटर्न
You take an objective computer-based recruitment test (CBRT). The written scheme totals 450 questions for 450 marks.
- Paper 1: General Studies and Mental Ability at degree standard, with 150 questions, 150 marks and 150 minutes.
- Paper 2: Postgraduate-standard economic concepts, international and Indian economics, financial accounting and computer basics, with 150 questions, 150 marks and 150 minutes.
- Paper 3: Postgraduate-standard statistics, including data collection, averages, dispersion, skewness, correlation, time series and index numbers, with 150 questions, 150 marks and 150 minutes.
Negative marking: Each wrong answer loses 1/3 of that question's marks.
Single-level written examination: APPSC will not hold a screening test, regardless of application numbers. If the examination runs in multiple sessions, marks may be normalized under a method the Commission will announce.
Computer Proficiency Test
You will have 60 minutes for the practical office-automation test worth 100 marks. Minimum qualifying marks are 30 for SC/ST/PBD, 35 for BC and 40 for OC.
- Computer fundamentals: 20% of marks, which may be assessed through multiple-choice questions.
- Document preparation and typing: 25% of marks.
- Organizing and inserting objects: 15% of marks.
- Spreadsheets: 20% of marks.
- Presentations: 20% of marks.
Typing assessment: The annexure includes typing-speed assessment and says qualifying norms may apply. It does not state a words-per-minute threshold.
