Selection Process
The Commission may conduct a Screening Test (MCQ type) if the number of applicants is large, followed by an interview. The screening test is only used to shortlist candidates for the interview — marks from it are not counted toward the final merit list. In the interview, you need to score at least 40% qualifying marks in the Unreserved category. If two candidates score equally in the interview, preference goes to the one who is older by date of birth.
Preparation Tips for WBPSC Librarian Exam

Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the West Bengal Secretariat Library
- Catalogue, classify, and organise books, journals, and other library materials
- Assist government officials and staff in locating reference materials and research documents
- Maintain library records, issue and return registers, and inventory of library assets
- Recommend acquisition of new books, periodicals, and digital resources for the Secretariat Library
- Ensure proper preservation and upkeep of rare and archival documents
