SS Jhunjhunu Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Sainik School Jhunjhunu, a residential school run by the Sainik Schools Society under the Ministry of Defence, is recruiting teaching, student-support, laboratory, office, technical and healthcare staff at its Dorasar campus in Rajasthan. The notice combines regular teaching appointments with fixed-term contractual work, so the service conditions differ by role. Indian citizens can apply, but school employees are not treated as Central or State Government employees.

This drive is broader than a classroom-only recruitment. It needs subject teachers, counsellors and activity instructors as well as the people who keep laboratories, records, vehicles, utilities and the school health facility running. Because this is a residential campus, every appointee contributes to school life beyond a narrow desk or classroom assignment.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Senior teaching: PGT roles cover Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, while TGT roles cover Mathematics, English and Social Science.
  • Student development: The Counsellor, PEM or PTI cum Matron, Art Master, and Music Teacher or Band Master support wellbeing, sports, arts and co-curricular life.
  • Science laboratories: Separate Lab Assistant roles support Physics, Chemistry and Biology practical work.
  • Office administration: UDC and LDC roles handle correspondence, records, typing and common office software.
  • Campus services: The Driver and Electrician cum Pump Operator support transport, electrical systems, wiring, plumbing and water operations.
  • Health support: The Nursing Sister looks after patient care, health records, equipment, the ambulance and dispensary coordination.

Post-wise Duties

PGT and TGT Teachers

You will teach your subject in English medium, plan lessons, assess student progress and contribute to games and co-curricular activities. TGT work also needs the applicable teacher-eligibility credential stated in the notice.

Counsellor and Activity Staff

You will support student wellbeing, guidance, physical education, art, music or band activities, depending on the post. Residential-school experience is useful because the work includes close, consistent engagement with children outside normal class periods.

Laboratory and Office Staff

Lab Assistants will prepare practical materials, keep the science laboratory safe and organised, and support demonstrations. UDC and LDC staff will manage files, correspondence, data and office software, with bilingual drafting or typing where the post needs it.

Campus and Health Staff

The Driver will operate and check school vehicles, while the Electrician cum Pump Operator will attend to electrical, wiring, plumbing and pump work. The Nursing Sister will handle basic care, medical records, equipment, ambulance readiness and dispensary administration.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Contract tenure: Contractual appointments run for up to 11 months and can be extended under Sainik Schools Society policy, subject to performance and institutional need. Contract service does not create a right to a regular appointment.
  • Regular service: Regular appointees complete a one-year probation that may be extended by another year. Regular roles other than General Employees carry an all-India transfer liability.
  • Campus life: Staff must take on duties connected with the efficient running of a residential school. Campus accommodation may be offered when available, entirely at the school's discretion.
  • Benefits: Regular staff receive applicable Sainik Schools Society benefits, including accommodation-related support, transport and dearness allowances, pension-scheme coverage, gratuity, medical support and subsidised schooling for eligible children.
  • Recruitment changes: The school may increase, reduce or cancel positions for administrative or policy reasons. If the newspaper notice and school website differ, the website information prevails.
  • Attendance: Shortlisted applicants must report at the Dorasar campus for the notified recruitment programme, and no TA or DA is paid.
