SAIL CMLO Young Professionals Recruitment 2026: Overview

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is engaging Young Professionals for the captive mines managed by its Central Mining and Logistics Organization (CMLO). The assignments cover Bolani, Barsuan, Kalta and Taldihi under the Odisha Group of Mines (OGoM). You would join on a fixed-term contract for specialist support to mining operations.

Posts and Disciplines

• Civil Engineer: The YP-3 role is the civil engineering assignment within this mines recruitment.
• Surveyor: The YP-2 role focuses on the mining survey discipline, with metalliferous opencast mines forming the relevant setting.
• IT Engineer: This YP-1 assignment covers the information technology discipline within the same organisation.
• Electronics Engineer: This YP-1 assignment covers electronics, automation and instrumentation expertise for the mines.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract duration: The initial engagement can run for up to three years. OGoM may extend it for another two years, one year at a time, depending on your performance and continued suitability. An extension is not automatic.
• End of engagement: If no extension is communicated, your contract ends on its agreed last day. The engagement also remains linked to organisational requirements.
• Contract status: You must sign the prescribed service agreement before joining. This engagement gives you independent professional status and does not create a right to a permanent SAIL position.
• Working schedule: The standard schedule is eight and a half hours a day, six days a week. Shift timings can apply, and work requirements may call for additional hours without extra payment.
• Leave: You earn leave for each completed month, subject to the annual limit in the contract. Unused leave cannot carry beyond the calendar year, and absence needs prior approval.
• Ending the contract early: During the first six months, either side can end the contract with seven days of notice. After that period, the notice requirement becomes one month, with the payment alternative stated in the agreement.
• Confidentiality: You must protect company information during and after the engagement. Intellectual property developed within the contract belongs to the company, and you must hand back relevant records when the engagement ends.
• Other assignments: SAIL may use your services at another plant, unit, subsidiary or joint venture when needed, subject to your express consent.
• Recruitment decisions: SAIL may change or cancel the recruitment requirements. Any amendments will appear on its website, so keep checking the notice associated with this advertisement.
