Posts and Disciplines

• Classical Dance: The listed forms are Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kathakali, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, Mohiniyattam, Odissi and Sattriya. The discipline is open to men and women.
• Drama: This discipline covers acting and direction and is also open to men and women. Keep your chosen discipline clear in your application.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Posting: The appropriate authority will decide your place of work. The eventual assignment depends on available vacancies, medical fitness and the competent authority's decision, so the Kolkata recruitment office is not a promise of a Kolkata posting.
• Reservation: The cultural quota is open across communities. If you are selected using a reserved-category relaxation, the railway will account for your appointment against the relevant reserved roster point.
• Provisional candidature: Being called to take part does not guarantee appointment. Your candidature remains provisional until the railway completes its checks and other appointment formalities.
• Pending certificates: Where a final certificate is awaited, an appointment offer can remain on hold until the original is produced or the university confirms it. Do not treat acceptance of provisional evidence as final clearance for joining.
• Travel and stay: You must arrange your own stay, and the railway will not provide travel allowances, daily allowances or accommodation. The notice separately provides a second-class return journey pass for SC/ST candidates attending the written test and document verification.
• Personal instruments: Bring the instruments you need for your cultural demonstration. RRC ER will not supply them.
• Communication: Keep your own mobile number and personal email active throughout recruitment. Requests to replace these contact details will not be accepted, and call letters will be available online rather than sent by post.
• Application corrections: You cannot change the form after final submission. Multiple applications from the same person can be rejected, and any retained hard copy must match the online form.
