RGCB Project Research Scientist I Recruitment 2026: Overview
BRIC-Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (BRIC-RGCB) is recruiting a Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) for its cervical cancer detection research in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The role belongs to the laboratories of Dr. Jackson James and Dr. Ani V Das, bringing the appointment into a specific research team within the centre.
The ICMR/MAHA MedTech-funded project focuses on an AI-integrated, ultrasensitive nanopore sensing system for non-invasive early detection of cervical cancer. This is a project appointment connected to that research programme, with its continuation linked to the project and your performance.
Advertisement 09/2026 identifies this laboratory position. RGCB has separate advertisements carrying the same post title, so use this advert number when choosing the position in your application. The project title and the named laboratories help you distinguish this opening from the other Scientist-I notices on the careers page.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial tenure: The appointment runs for one year or until the project ends, whichever comes first. You should plan for a fixed project term.
- Extension: Further engagement depends on a review of your performance. An extension is conditional, so the initial appointment does not promise continued service.
- Project closure: Your position ends with the project. This condition applies even if the project finishes before the initial appointment period.
- Future appointments: Selection gives you no right to another RGCB position, whether permanent or otherwise.
- Current government employment: If you work for a government organisation, your application must go through the proper channel.
- Separate applications: If you apply for other RGCB positions too, use a separate form for each position.
- Prescribed format: Use the required application format. RGCB states that applications in a different format will be rejected.
