RGCB JRF Breast Cancer Recruitment 2026: Overview
BRIC-Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (BRIC-RGCB) is hiring a Junior Research Fellow for a CSIR-ASPIRE project in Thiruvananthapuram. You would join the laboratory of Dr. Priya Srinivas, Scientist G and Dean, for a project engagement focused on breast cancer research.
The project studies targeting Beta-hCG as a treatment strategy for breast cancers with BRCA1 promoter hypermethylation. Its focus is preclinical research, as the project title makes clear. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) supports this work through CSIR-ASPIRE; the opening belongs to that project in Dr. Srinivas's laboratory.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial tenure: Your engagement will run for one year or until the project ends, whichever happens first. The project end therefore limits how long the appointment can continue.
- Possible upgrade: The notice says the Junior Research Fellow position may be upgraded to Senior Research Fellow. It does not promise an upgrade, so you should treat this as a possibility rather than an assured change in your appointment.
- Future employment: Selection does not give you a claim to another position at RGCB, whether permanent or otherwise. This condition applies even if you complete the project engagement.
- Project-linked appointment: The post ends with the project. Keep that link in mind when considering the opportunity and your availability for the research assignment.
- Prescribed format: RGCB can reject an application that does not follow its required format. Check that your application follows the format provided for this recruitment.
Application Submission Notes
- Government employees: If you currently work in a government firm, route your application through the proper channel, as the notice directs.
- Other RGCB openings: If you want to apply for different positions, use a separate application form for each position. Your application for this project does not serve as an application for another opening.
