NITUK JRF and Research Associate Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand (NITUK) is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow or Research Associate for an ANRF PM Professorship project in the Department of Electronics Engineering. The work centres on advanced electromagnetic methods for improving wireless connectivity in complex terrain, using reconfigurable intelligent surfaces and orbital-angular-momentum radiating structures. This is a research-project engagement with several possible appointment levels, so the institute will place the selected researcher at the level that matches their qualification and experience.

Posts and Disciplines

• Junior Research Fellow: the entry research level suits candidates prepared to work on RF, microwave, antennas, electromagnetic theory and signal-processing problems under the principal investigator.
• Research Associate I: this level is intended for a researcher with doctoral-level preparation or the experience route stated in the notice.
• Research Associate II: the institute may use this level when a candidate's research record and relevant experience support a higher placement.
• Research Associate III: this is the senior option within the same project position and is assessed against the candidate's experience and research profile.

Post-wise Duties

Junior Research Fellow

You will support modelling, simulation and experimental work connected with RF and microwave systems. Your day-to-day work may include studying antenna behaviour, maintaining technical results and helping the project team compare design options.

Research Associate I

You will take greater ownership of defined research tasks, use suitable engineering design tools and turn findings into clear technical material for the principal investigator.

Research Associate II

You will handle advanced analysis across antennas, communication systems or signal processing and help connect individual experiments to the larger project objectives.

Research Associate III

You will be expected to work with substantial independence, guide complex technical activities and communicate research decisions and outcomes clearly to the project team.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: the appointment begins for one year and may continue with the project when performance remains satisfactory.
• Temporary status: the position exists only for the sponsored project; neither ANRF nor NITUK promises employment after the project ends.
• Level decision: the institute will decide the Research Associate level after reviewing the selected candidate's experience.
• Ph.D. option: a selected researcher with the specified master's qualification may seek admission to the institute's Ph.D. programme after meeting its separate admission rules.
• Travel support: the institute will not pay TA or DA for attending the interaction.
