NIT Silchar Project Associate I Physics Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) is hiring a Project Associate-I for its Department of Physics in Silchar, Assam. The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) supports the project, which explores transport linked to quantum geometry in unconventional superconductors. You would join a project-based research engagement under Dr. Snehasish Nandy, the principal investigator.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Project identity: The research is titled Exploring novel transport induced by quantum geometry in unconventional superconductors. Its sanction reference is ANRF/ECRG/2024/005947/PMS; this identifies the project attached to your application.
  • Initial engagement: The appointment starts with a 12-month term. Your continued engagement depends on the project conditions, so you should consider that initial period when deciding whether the role fits your plans.
  • Extension: The term may continue until the project ends, subject to available funds and a review of your performance. An extension is conditional; the initial appointment does not guarantee work for the full project period.
  • Open application window: The notice gives preference to applications received by its priority date and says the position remains open until filled. If you apply later, the wording does not guarantee that the position will still be available.
  • Travel costs: NIT Silchar will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview or joining the post. Keep this condition in mind if taking part would involve travel to the institute.
  • Joining agreement: If selected, you must sign an agreement when you join. The notice states this requirement but does not set out the agreement terms or specify a service bond amount.
  • Recruitment discretion: The institute may limit the number of people called after screening applications. It can also leave the post unfilled if it does not find a suitable person.
  • Applicable conditions: The engagement follows the guidelines of ANRF and NIT Silchar. Read the project conditions as part of the offer before making arrangements to join.
