NIT Raipur Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Technology Raipur (NIT Raipur), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, is recruiting for regular non-teaching positions at its Raipur campus. The advertisement combines administrative and office posts with technical posts across engineering and science departments. A useful detail for your choice of specialisation is that the department named for recruitment may differ from the department where you are placed.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Superintendent: an administrative cadre included alongside the institute's technical and office cadres.
  • Technical Assistant: openings span Applied Geology, Architecture and Planning, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and Physics.
  • Senior Assistant: an office cadre with a separate computer and typing requirement in the post specification.
  • Senior Technician: this recruitment is specifically for the Chemistry discipline.
  • Technician: specialisations include Architecture and Planning, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Applications, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and Mining Engineering.
  • Office Attendant: a separate non-technical office cadre under the same advertisement.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Computer Science placements: Technical Assistants selected through Computer Science and Engineering may be placed in Computer Applications, Computer Science and Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Information Technology, or Mathematics, according to the advertised allocation.
  • Chemistry placements: Technicians recruited through Chemistry are allocated to Biotechnology and Chemistry. Your recruiting discipline therefore does not always identify your eventual department.
  • Other technical placements: Computer Science Technicians are allocated to Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology. Electrical Engineering Technicians are allocated across Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, and Physics.
  • Departmental flexibility: The institute can use your services in any of its departments or sections later. The initial allocation does not guarantee that you will remain in that department.
  • Separate applications: If you choose more than one post or specialisation, each needs its own application. An application for one post or specialisation cannot be transferred to another.
  • Provisional candidature: Acceptance of your form or issue of a call letter does not confirm that every claim has been accepted. The institute may cancel candidature if your supporting evidence does not establish the information you entered.
  • Recruitment changes: The institute can change the number of posts, leave posts unfilled, revise the notified arrangements, or cancel the advertisement. Applicable changes to recruitment rules may also affect this process.
  • Travel and centre allocation: You bear the risk and expense of attending the examination. The institute may allocate a different centre and will not accept requests to change the centre, venue, date or session.
