VOCPA Trainee Pilot Recruitment 2026: Overview
V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA), under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, is engaging Trainee Pilots for its Marine Department in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. Service Conditions and Caveats
- Engagement period: The notice specifies a three-year engagement and requires service for two years after successful completion of training and licensing. Keep both parts of this commitment in mind when considering the appointment.
- Continued employment: Completing the contract does not give you a right to further employment with the port authority. The authority makes no commitment to offer employment during or after the contractual engagement.

- Provisional candidature: Incorrect information, false certificates or concealed facts can lead to cancellation. If a problem comes to light after engagement, the authority can terminate the appointment.
- Authority's discretion: The port may change the number of positions, restrict the shortlist, reject applications or cancel the recruitment in part or in full. Its decision on recruitment matters is final.

Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency (COC). An Indian citizen holding a foreign COC recognised by India must obtain the relevant endorsement from the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India.

You must be 55 years or younger when entering pilotage service. The notice separately sets an upper service age of 65 years, subject to the port's medical examination.
