NIT Jamshedpur Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur (NIT Jamshedpur) has invited applications from eligible Indian nationals for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in its Department of Electrical Engineering. The position is under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) sponsored project titled "Design and Experimental Evaluation of Resonant Gate Driving in High-Efficiency GaN-Based Three-Phase Propulsion Drives for E-Mobility" (Project File No. ANRF/ARG/2025/010608/ENS). The position is initially for 1 year and can be extended up to 27 months based on your performance and the project's needs. This role focuses on wide-bandgap semiconductor devices and inverter design for electric vehicles - a good fit for candidates interested in power electronics research.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a B.Tech and M.Tech (or equivalent) degree in Electrical Engineering with First Class (6.5 CGPA out of 10, or 60% marks).
• Desirable: GATE qualification is preferred, along with knowledge of Power Electronics and Drives, Electrical Machines and Drives, SiC and GaN wide-bandgap semiconductors, gate driver design and analysis, and electric vehicles.
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.

Salary

• In the 1st and 2nd year, you will get a fellowship of Rs. 37,000 per month plus HRA.
• In the 3rd year, your fellowship increases to Rs. 42,000 per month plus HRA.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on merit and the requirements of the project:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on merit and the needs of the project. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by email.
2. Interview: The interview may be conducted online or in person; the schedule will be notified later.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or for joining the position.
