NISER Project Associate-I Physics Recruitment 2026: Overview
National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar is hiring a Project Associate-I for its School of Physical Sciences at Jatni, Odisha. The engagement belongs to the project Josephson nano-junctions with spin-orbit interactions in the barrier, funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). NISER is an autonomous research institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Project tenure: The engagement lasts for one year or until the project ends, whichever comes first. Your position ends with the project, so the advertised tenure does not promise work beyond its completion.
- Academic status: This position does not lead to a PhD degree at NISER. If you are considering the role as a route into doctoral study, keep this explicit restriction in mind.
- Employment status: Taking up this project position gives you no claim to a regular NISER post or to absorption into the institute. The notice describes a temporary research engagement.
- Joining expenses: NISER will not pay travel or daily allowance for joining this position. You should account for this condition when considering the move to Jatni.

Minimum Qualification
Master’s degree in Physics from a recognized institute. Indian nationals may apply.
Preferred Qualification
Experience in device fabrication and superconductivity.

Consolidated monthly pay: Rs. 37,000 with valid CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship/Assistant Professorship) or GATE; Rs. 30,000 without these valid qualifications.
