Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri is hiring 2 contractual posts — 1 Young Professional-I and 1 Skilled Helper — for a Rajeev Gandhi Science and Technology Commission (RGSTC) funded research project at the Department of Biochemistry, Post Graduate Institute. The Young Professional-I post pays Rs. 30,000 per month and the Skilled Helper post pays Rs. 10,000 per month. MPKV Rahuri Young Professional and Skilled Helper Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri has invited applications for two contractual research project posts under the RGSTC-funded project titled "Mitigation of biotic and Abiotic stresses in crop plants mediated through potassium Metaphosphate dimer, a new nutrient immunity booster". The project will study the effect of PMPD on physiological, biochemical and molecular changes in chickpea and soybean under biotic stresses (wilt, Spodoptera, other diseases) and abiotic stresses (drought, salinity). Both posts are purely temporary for a duration of 6 months and will work at the Department of Biochemistry, MPKV Rahuri.

• Young Professional-I: 1 post — Rs. 30,000 per month (Fixed Pay) — 6 months duration
• Skilled Helper: 1 post — Rs. 10,000 per month (Fixed Pay) — 6 months duration

Who Can Apply?

For Young Professional-I (Rs. 30,000/month)

• B.Sc in Agriculture Science with at least 60% marks AND at least 1 year experience in a relevant field, OR
• M.Sc in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Agronomy

For Skilled Helper (Rs. 10,000/month)

• SSC / HSC / Any Graduate (Essential)
• At least 2 years of experience in a relevant field

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 21 years
• Maximum age: 45 years
• Age limit applies to both Young Professional-I and Skilled Helper posts

Salary

• Young Professional-I: Rs. 30,000 per month (Fixed Pay)
• Skilled Helper: Rs. 10,000 per month (Fixed Pay)
• Both are fixed consolidated amounts — no additional DA, HRA or other allowances apply since this is a purely temporary contract appointment.

Selection Process

The selection committee will interview only eligible candidates. The process is as follows:

1. Screening of Applications: The selection committee will scrutinise applications and shortlist eligible candidates.
2. Written Test (if needed): If a large number of candidates apply, a screening written test will be conducted before the interview.
3. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at MPKV Rahuri at their own cost.
4. Document Verification: Candidates must produce original documents and a photo identity proof at the time of interview.

• Take part in farmer field visits, survey work and training programmes as part of project duties
• Assist the Principal Investigator in extension activities and research dissemination
• Complete assigned work within the prescribed time limit during the 6-month contract
